Prime Time vs. Interuptions
By: Tina Farewell
~~ PRIME TIME ~~
PRIME TIME is the time you accomplish the most important things in your day. You may want to take a moment to define what PRIME TIME means in your life.
PRIME TIME may be a few moments of quiet time with your youngest child before working on academics with your older ones. PRIME TIME could be tending to your aged mother-in-law, reading to a child, or serving at a soup kitchen.
Or PRIME TIME could be writing a book or listing items to sell on eBay.
We each have our own definition of PRIME TIME, and we each have our own definition of INTERRUPTIONS.
~~ VERSUS INTERRUPTIONS ~~
Alex Mandossian's definition of an INTERRUPTION is an unknown--like what is on the other side of a closed door or an unopened email. An INTERRUPTION may be positive or negative, but the fact is this--an INTERRUPTION is an unknown.
So, unless you have caller ID and know what a phone call concerns or you know specifically what is going to be in an email, you shouldn't answer the phone or open the email during your PRIME TIME.
Alex says don't EVER look at email the first thing in the morning. That's because you don't know the content of the email and it may ruin your creativity for the day.
If you have an online business, he states that you'll just have more orders if you wait till later in the day to check them! You'll also wait to know about any problems, returns, etc., until later -- when your productive PRIME TIME is over for the day.
So, instead of dealing with INTERRUPTIONS first thing in the morning, Alex says that first he exercises (he's a champion squash player), which, besides being good for him, also increases his endorphin levels thereby increasing his productivity.
He then works for four solid hours--with NO INTERRUPTIONS from his wife, children, phone, email, etc.
Everyone knows his PRIME TIME is sacred.
~~ DO PRIME TIME FIRST ~~
In just a few words, the key is to go straight into productive PRIME TIME--habitually--every morning and don't get stopped by INTERRUPTIONS.
If PRIME TIME is practiced every day--habitually--your brain is ready for it and it becomes even more productive!
So, let's skip the INTERRUPTIONS tomorrow morning and move straight into productive PRIME TIME-- what is truly important!!!
Tina Farewell who hopes the concept of PRIME TIME blesses you and yours!
